The 2008 Cybils Finalists

Ta-da ... The Big Reveal.  Can I remind everyone that our panelists are the world's most fabulous book bloggers?  They had to hunt down an extraordinary number of titles on their own this year.  Blame the economy, as review copies were often hard to come by.

A round of applause, please, as our hard-working panelists pass the baton to our judges.

Click on each genre for its short list:

Easy Readers
Fantasy & Science Fiction
Fiction Picture Books
Graphic Novels
Middle Grade Fiction
Non-Fiction MG/YA
Non-Fiction Picture Books
Poetry
Young Adult Fiction

Happy New Year, book lovers!
--Anne Levy, Editor

Yay! I have been waiting for these shortlists! You know what this means, right? This means I will try to read ALL of these books. LOL. :o)

How could I forget... Thank you, panelists!!! Happy New Year. :D

What fabulous lists! I was so happy to see some of my favorites on them, and many more that I need to seek out. Many many thanks to the fabulous and hard-reading panelists!

Now on to the judging...

Round of applause, yes! I love the way you involve us in the steps and keep up the excitement -- and reading! I'm cheering for some of these, and can't wait to get my hands on others. Thank you!

THANK YOU, Anne and Kelly!

How exciting! Great lists! Congratulations to all the finalists, and a big thank you to all the hard working panelists!

I've been waiting for these!!

Hurrah for all the panelists, and thanks, Anne and Kelly!

Oooooh. Good stuff. Thanks for organizing and getting these up to start the new year off right!

How fun to see that I've read some, have some in my TBR pile and have others now to pick up! Thanks for posting the link.

Hmm. Haven't read a single one of these....

I've only read a few so far so - yea! Lots of good reading ahead for me!

It was gratifying to see so many books I have fallen in love with over the past twelve months (May the odds always be in The Hunger Games favor to win the Newbery!).
I just added scores more books to my "books-to-read" goodreads shelf. Thanks for providing such a wonderful list of must reads to my students and me.

Hi to all the hardworking bloggers out there! I was really honored and touched to hear that EVERY SOUL A STAR was a middle grade finalist. You guys have always been so supportive of my books, and it means a lot to me. So thank you for that, and for pointing me to so many great reads that i wouldn't have found otherwise. (if my editor asks why i'm behind schedule, i'm going to blame you. just a heads up.)
:o)

(i'm sorry if this came up twice!)
