Food for thought, indeed! You've given us a lot to chew on here. I never thought about my kids' windows, which face east (and will be the same in our new house). I do know that my kids are like me in regards to breakfast... a bowl of cereal and juice and we're good to go.

One of the reasons my kids have so much energy is because I make sure they get at least 10 to 11 hours of sleep each night. Without fail. It's the key to a healthy brain. Diet is second at this age. Sleep is first. I'm amazed at some of the parents I talk to who let their 7-year-old (and younger) kids stay up until 10 or 11 at night.

Great post, once again. You should be making money off these articles!

Thanks Phil!
