Recalls
Baby Seats, Metal Jewelry,
Diego Boats, Halloween Pails,
Bobble Heads, Cake Decorations

Bumbo_102507 About 1 million Bumbo Baby Sitter seats are sort of being recalled after the Consumer Product Safety Commission received 28 reports of children falling out and suffering injuries. In three cases, children suffered skull fractures after falling from seats that were placed on tables.

Essentially, the seats are not going to be fixed or replaced, and will instead receive new warning stickers that will include this line:

“WARNING – Prevent Falls; Never use on any elevated surface.”

The South African-made seats were sold from August 2003 through October 2007 at Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, Toys ‘R’ Us, Babies ‘R’ Us, USA Babies, other retailers and via the Internet. While I’ve seen these seats in other people’s homes, I thought the foam rubber material was a bit creepy.

Comments

Geez, when I first saw this baby seat, I thought it was cool. Apparently, it's not. Thanks for keeping us posted with the recalls (*sad*)

Actually, I don't think anything is really wrong with the child seat. Parents just need to be careful not to stick them up on a counter or tabletop. They seem perfectly safe when on the ground.

Placed on tables! The edge, no doubt. The parents should be in trouble, not the company making the seats.

Well, the company is not in too much trouble. Just new stickers. But yeah, in this case the problem is on the parenting side.
