by Jerry Pallotta; illustrated by David Biedrzycki and Rob Bolster
Palotta and Biedrzycki must've had some insect illustrations leftover from their last venture and decided to inflict them on us bug-o-phobes. Of course, I'm not a two-year-old boy who's been known to pluck snails from their shells or roll worms in his palms, and this book of simple arithmetic exercises isn't directed at me.
Spiders, flies, beetles, moths and bees swarm brightly across the pages for kids to count, sort and group or ungroup. The vivid, lifelike renderings will have you reaching for the Raid, but you can count your blessings for a funny and creative way to teach your kid basic math.
