I'm back! Sorry if you've been missing out on reviews, but I had to meet two freelance deadlines. Paying gigs are rare and I'd hate to blow it with my generous editor, so I put Book Buds on a brief hiatus.
You'll find your patience rewarded later this week, when I review Jason Alexander's "Dad, Are You the Tooth Fairy?"
I'll also be taking aim in the week ahead at another of Madonna's muddled attempts at brainwashing, "Lotsa de Casha," plus a lovely biography of Yiddish author and humorist Sholom Aleichem.
Mini Grey's hilarious "Traction Man is here" is on deck, and I may even get to review -- at long last -- Jon Muth's "Zen Shorts," which has been on the NY Times bestseller list, an encouraging sign that great stories can indeed nudge aside celebrity egos for shelf space.
Of course, I'm due to give birth in two weeks (a girl! Hooray!) so all of my ambitions could be suddenly dashed if the little darling decides to debut early. I'll try and put a few reviews in the queue to print while I'm in the hospital, but no guarantees.
Thanks to those of you still popping in. I hope you won't feel disappointed as Book Buds gears up belatedly for summer.
Happy reading,
Anne Levy
