Howdy. I'm Anne Boles Levy, and welcome to my blog for reviewing children's books, plus occasional off-the-cuff riffs on kiddie lit.
My resume:
I'm doing a great freelance stint as children's webpage editor at the Poetry Foundation. Yeah, that Poetry Foundation. My book reviews for grownups have appeared in the Los Angeles Times.
Credentials? What, you expect me to be credentialed? Feh.
I studied English Lit. at Smith College and University College London, got a master's in journalism from Columbia Univ. And, oh yeah, spent eight years toiling in the trenches at various newspapers.
Ho hum.
Personal: I'm 44 years old with a kindergarten-aged son who learned to curse by mimicking me when I drive. My two-year-old daughter snores. My husband does the laundry and doesn't show any obvious signs of resentment.

I'm sorry, I can't review unpublished manuscripts; I have enough of my own piled up.
I love the new look, Anne!

Hi,
I was on your site and I thought you might be interested to know about a wonderful site for children called onemorestory.com.
This is a site where children can go online and hear, read, and see the best of children's literature.
I hope you will have the chance to check it out.
I thank you in advance for your time and please let me know what you think about the site.
Sincerely,
Amy Roth

Hey Amy:
I didn't forget you. As soon as things settle down this week, I'll take a look. Thanks for finding your way here.

Anne,
Guess what came in the mail today?
TEAM MOON by Catherine Thimmesh--with a personal inscription! What a great Halloween surprise. I'm an astronomy buff--so this is a perfect award for me.
I guess I'll be trying to read the book tonight while passing out candy to little ghosts and goblins.
Thanks for running your "First Words" contest--and thanks for the prize. I'll probably have to write a poem for the occasion!
