Oooh, I had some time to myself today, can you imagine! A few child-free hours, which I spent in the superb company of Susan at Chicken Spaghetti. Here's her take on the encounter.
We met up in an adorable cafe in a town near where I grew up, and it's amazing to see the changes as downtowns gentrify and reinvigorate, though I could do without yet another Gap or Starbucks. Why are revitilization efforts so blindingly similar?
Anyhow, Susan and I covered all the best territory: kids, books, our writing careers, families, homes, and that whole blogging thing we do. There was no "networking" and no agenda, just two women who share an obsession with kiddie lit. How cool is that?
Thanks, Susan. I need to do this again soon. How about tomorrow?
That was great fun, Anne! Next time we'll have to go to the vegetarian place.

In my browsing of language arts I ended up here (it's late), but I must say that two women with an obsession for good children's lit sounds like a recipe for success (for everyone connected with you!). Wish we had more like you...
