In my other life, I'm the freelance editor for the Poetry Foundation's children's Web page. It's my great pleasure to announce that kidlit bloggers extraordinaire, Jules and Eisha, have an article up suggesting which poems to sneak into your kid's lunch box.
Besides the usual holidays, you'll find poems for losing a tooth, pop quizzes, fights with best friends ... whatever milestone your children face, surprise them with a few verses tucked in with their twinkies.
Read all their suggestions, which are taken from the Poetry Foundation's archives.
This was Jules and Eisha's first freelance piece, and they showed great patience in the face of numerous delays, scheduling snafus and the usual editing tortures. Go leave them some kudos for their hard work and fun ideas.
