Thank you for including "Artist to Artist: 23 Major Illustrators Talk to Children About Their Art" in your list of best books for the middle grade and young adult nonfiction categories.

We are incredibly proud of the impact of this book, which benefits The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, MA and our mission to inspire an appreciation of art and the development of literacy through the art of the picture book.

Celebrating our fifth anniversary in November, The Carle is a 40,000 square foot facility which features three Galleries of rotating picture book art from around the world. The Museum also houses a Reading Library, hands-on Art Studio, Auditorium, Cafe and Museum Shop.

The contributing illustrators in "Artist to Artist" all exhibited or were keenly involved in the first years of the Museum. In this book, they speak to the heart of children of all ages though moving letters, dynamic self-portraits, and glimpses into their early work, personal effects, and studio spaces.

We hope you enjoy "Artist to Artist," and find inspiration in "the art we know first."
