Wow! What a list! Maybe it's too old to be considered, but William Slater's Interstellar Pig should really be on that list. I'm not so sure about its "literary qualifications," but it's a great read. Another good one and new is "Queen Geeks in Love" by Laura Preble. Reading about the characters just made me laugh, as I can completely see my niece as one of the goth girls.
