Little Willow

I too waited for others to get their nominations, then finally added my choices today. I went with my first picks, of course, if they hadn't already nominated, but some were - some had my first three or four choices already listed, in fact!

I'm so glad you are doing this! It is really hard to read through the comments and check what's missing (and keep that list updated!) But if several folks do it and we get those lists together it would be such a help.

I have two posts up about what's missing:

Easy Readers

Poetry

Sorry, I thought my hyperlinks would go in that last comment. Here are the two posts:

Poetry - http://awrungsponge.blogspot.com/2008/10/cybils-poetry-books-not-yet-nominated.html

Easy Readers - http://awrungsponge.blogspot.com/2008/10/cybils-whats-not-on-lists-yet_10.html

I've added a section on what hasn't been nominated to my freshly updated list of what has been for the Science Fiction/Fantasy category. http://charlotteslibrary.blogspot.com/2008/10/cybils-my-list-of-whats-been-nominated.html

I still have my poetry, easy reader, and middle grade ya cards in hand...

Becky

Here is my list for YA nominations.

And if Wombat and Fox counts as an Easy Reader--it's slightly over the page limit but the pictures are space-takers--then that would be my suggestion for what is missing there. Wombat and Fox by Terry Denton.

And I might have missed it...but I didn't see Moxy Maxwell Does Not Love Writing Thank You Notes in Middle Grade Fiction. If so, this book begs to be nominated. So Moxy Maxwell Does Not Love Writing Thank You Notes by Peggy Gifford.

I'm not sure if this counts as what you're looking for, since it's not a very long list, but I do touch on what's missing from SF/F:

Wizards Wireless

Here's a blog post I wrote about what books haven't been nominated for the early reader category:

This was perfect! I got some guidance on an Easy Reader nominee (a book I enjoyed, but wasn't thinking of in that category), and a reminder about a book that I wanted to nominate for Non-Fiction Picture Book as well. It turns out that it already got nominated, but it got my creative juices flowing and I picked another.

For next year, is there any way that we could keep a running list of nominated titles on a separate page? The comments are a bit unwieldy, as you say, but on top of multiple nominations, books being changed from one category to the next makes it even more uncertain.

I might be willing to donate some time next year to help catalog books in this way if you'd like.

Kim Baccellia

I just found CHAINS by Laurie Halse Anderson at my local Borders store. That one needs to be nominated. It's awesome.

Kelly Fineman

I put up a list of missing links, er, poetry books, yesterday: http://kellyrfineman.livejournal.com/342159.html
