So TV is bad for the wee ones, blah blah blah. We knew this. The only news here is that somebody actually spent money to study the effects of watching Wiggles and Bob the Builder on young minds. It's not pretty. Apparently, they get stuck in Teletubby Land forever and grow up expecting the whole world to ooze pink custard. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
Now back to my regularly scheduled life.
That's terrible! People should think of things for infants to do.... I wonder if just giving them a picture book does that same thing (in the little post on "Dad Talk," it said that constantly changing images is what TV has, but if a child had a picture book, wouldn't they be constantly changing the page....? Well, anyway, parents should get some free time, so people should make up new and better ways to entertain infants.

I think a picture book is different because the change is actually much slower. Next time you're watching TV, note how quickly the camera angles flash from one image to the next. It's also bad for babies' eyes, since their muscle control isn't fully developed.
I really hate the boob tube, but when I'm fixing dinner and my son is fussing, what am I to do? We do try to limit it to one hour a day, max.
Thanks for dropping by.
