That's John, not Nicolai, and this is a pattern he allegedly designed and we thought was fun. She was still very new and very small in this photo. She doubled in size about a week later, I think.
In any case, these onesies and blankies now look like gauze pads on her.
She never budges from this spot without being pried off. I have permanent stains just on that one spot from all the spit-up and slobber. But it is the most reliable way of soothing her, which means she spends most of her day this way.
It also means I now have a very powerful left arm.
I could just pinch those cheeks! This was a day at the beach with his Daddy, designed to give Mommy a few hours of peace with the new baby.
Hah.
And so adorable. Seth just hates to see Lael get her photo taken without him, so we gave in to the inevitable and put both our little hams in front of the camera.
We needed a new set of nekkid photos with which to someday blackmail our son. He's really gonna' hate us for this. Especially when we tell you this was one of the first times he bathed by himself in his very own tub, instead of in our tub with his Daddy.
Oh, how embarrassing! Not with Daddy! Why'd you have to tell everyone that (I'm just bracing for when he reads this someday).
Finally, a photo that doesn't make me look fat. The baby, on the other hand, is allowed to look chunky. And cute. Way cute.
He's even hotter now than when I married him, though he doesn't believe me. Isn't that sweet?
The costume was Seth's idea, with only minor encouragement from his proud Momma. He's very caring and has great bedside manner, especially if you read him a story and hug him. But wait 'til you see the bill ...
